In electrical engineering, power is the amount of electrical energy produced or consumed per unit of time, and its unit is Watt. In the lighting industry, and to put it simply, Watt is the power consumption of a lamp, meaning the lower the wattage of a lamp, the lower the amount of electricity consumed, and vice versa. Commonly, and mistakenly, the greater the illumination of a lamp is related to the greater the wattage, while the brightness of a source is related to its luminous flux.
