Ronika – Surface mounted lighting – Rotating rail – 32 watts – 24 degrees – Code RN12

Ronika – Surface mounted lighting – Rotating rail – 32 watts – 24 degrees – Code RN12

The powerful 32-watt Ronica family (RN11, RN12, RN13) is built on three different angles: 15 degrees for absolute focus, 36 degrees for wide coverage, and 24 degrees — right in between — which is where the RN12 comes in. This middle angle is perfect for when you don’t need a small, very intense spot, nor a completely uniform coverage of a large surface; but rather you want to illuminate a space smaller than a shelf but larger than a single object — like a section of a display case, a display table, or a small group of products side by side.

When three products from the same family are offered with the same wattage (32 watts) and only differ in beam angle, the right choice often falls between two extremes: too narrow or too wide. The RN12 bridges that gap. Its 24-degree angle is wider than the RN11’s focused angle (15 degrees), so it’s not as precise for displaying a single item; but it’s also narrower than the RN13’s wide angle (36 degrees), so it’s not as wide for covering a large surface. The result is a product that strikes the best balance between focus and coverage for a small group of items—not one item, not an entire shelf.

This middle ground is actually more widely used than its two companions, since most display cases or counters don’t have just one object or an endless row of merchandise, but rather several items stacked side by side—exactly the situation for which the 24-degree angle is optimal. In terms of optical specifications, the RN12, with 3200 lumens and an efficiency of 100 lumens per watt, has exactly the same light quality as the RN11 and RN13; the only difference between the three products is in the geometry of the beam, not in the inherent quality of the light. The OSRAM chip and the CRI of over 90 are also the same in all three, so the choice between the three models should be based solely on the geometry of the intended space, not on concerns about quality loss.

In terms of physical construction, the RN12 is exactly the same size and weight as the RN11 and RN13 — 95 mm in diameter, 236 mm in length, and 1 kg in weight. This uniformity of dimensions has an important practical advantage: in a project where all three angles (15, 24, and 36 degrees) are mounted on a common rail to create three different light levels simultaneously, the uniform appearance of the lights makes the final composition appear coordinated and planned, rather than a puzzle of disparate pieces. The input voltage range of 110 to 250 V ensures installation without additional equipment in any electrical network.
